A man from Beverly Hills bought this C7 Chevy Corvette ZR1 sight unseen, just after the C8 ZR1 was officially unveiled back in July. However, he wanted his previous-generation Corvette to deliver as much power as the new one. So, he sent it straight to a tuner.

1,064 horsepower. That is how much the newly unveiled C8 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has on tap. It comes with the most powerful engine ever offered on a Corvette. The twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out an incredible amount of power. Chevrolet has not yet disclosed the time for the 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph), but the top speed is 215 mph (346 kph).

The C7 Corvette ZR1 is far behind it on paper with the 775 horsepower it rolled down the production line with. So, when Mr. Williams bought a 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1, he instantly decided he wanted to compete against the new one, which hasn’t even entered production yet. So, he sent his newly purchased car from Los Angeles to a tuner in Texas for their 1,000-horsepower package.

Mr. Williams had some requests, though. He wanted that, when he waited at the stoplight, the driver in the car next to him wouldn’t guess in a million years that his Corvette was tuned. He wanted his car to sound perfectly stock and not wake up the entire neighborhood when he switched the engine early morning.

A cold-air induction system, American Racing stainless steel headers, and an E85 system are on the menu to make the V8 pump out as much as 1,000 horsepower. Steven Fereday, owner of Late Model Racecraft, explains that when idle, you could never tell the car was tuned. That is exactly what the owner wanted in the first place.

For some much-needed extra traction, the LMR team put Toyo tires on the car. The owner of the C7 Chevy Corvette ZR1 wants to have fun on winding roads but also along straights.

Steven takes the car for a ride to make sure everything is safe for the customer. It drives like a stock car, but it is capable of providing its owner his fair share of fun. Now, Late Model Racecraft is ready to ship the car back to Mr. Williams. He should, however, keep the traction control on until he gets used to it.

Now, the owner can cruise down Rodeo Drive, then wind up the curves of Mulholland Drive, through the Hollywood Hills. He won’t have to bother about buying the C8 Corvette ZR1 for the upcoming years.

General Motors hasn’t even set its price. However, the brand’s president, Mark Reuss, said it would be aspirational but attainable. The C7 was a $122,000 affair when it hit the market.
