G-Power Unveils Wildly Modified BMW M2 With Massive Power Gains

  • G-Power has released a comprehensive package for the latest version of the BMW M2.
  • The tuned M2 offers three different power options, ranging from 592 hp to 690 hp.
  • Visual upgrades include carbon fiber components, new wheels, and a rear wing.

G-Power has become the latest tuner to have some fun with the second-generation BMW M2, releasing a slew of performance and visual upgrades for it. This bright orange creation might not be to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying it makes a wild statement and would turn heads even in a sea of supercars.

Numerous visual add-ons attempt to fix the M2’s controversial design, and they do a reasonably good job. New carbon fiber intake shrouds have been added to the front bumper and G-Power says it’s also working on a carbon fiber hood, although its not yet ready to share images of it.

The BMW now rocks aftermarket wheels, available in two designs, and measuring 20×9 at the front and 21×10.5 at the rear, wrapped in 285/30 and 295/25 tires, respectively.

A fixed carbon fiber rear wing has been added. It sits alongside the carbon lip spoiler from BMW M’s Performance Parts catalog, alongside a carbon fiber diffuser and an over-the-top quad tailpipe arrangement.

Then we get to the juicy stuff. The S58B30 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder of the M2 has proven itself to be very responsive to modifications, so G-Power has developed three power options for it. The entry-level kit lifts grunt from 453 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) to 592 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm).

If that’s not enough, G-Power can extract 641 hp and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) from the same engine thanks to a new exhaust and downpipes. The flagship G-Power M2 delivers 690 hp and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm), enough to easily outmuscle a BMW M8.

This isn’t the only modified M2 we’ve seen in recent months. In July, Dahler boosted the performance of the sports car with a Stage 2 package, allowing it to muscle out 621 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). Extreme Customs has also upgraded the M2 recently, tweaking its design and squeezing 544 hp out of the six-cylinder.
