The use of carbon fiber in automobiles is becoming more and more common. It’s lightweight, sturdy, and can be formed in any way – the perfect way to shed weight in performance vehicles. In addition, Bugatti has proven that it can be an art form all its own. But that doesn’t always turn out for the better, does it? This BMW M4 has a carbon fiber front fascia that is fully naked as if it had just come out of the autoclave, and we’re not sure it’s a good look.

The whole ensemble of exposed carbon fiber elements is a product of Vorsteiner – yes, the same American company that makes premium wheels for exotics and performance vehicles. Unlike Vorsteiner’s work with other BMWs where the exposed carbon fiber parts were just tasteful accents to the whole thing, the unpainted composite material on this M4 does make it look interesting, but not in a good way. And it’s not exactly cheap.
The Face Alone Almost Costs A Brand-New Car
Vorsteiner didn’t disclose the pricing when it showcased the exposed carbon fiber fascia on its social media, but a quick look at its website gives us an idea of how expensive this modification is. The hood alone, which the company calls the Aero Bonnet, is priced at $5,495, the priciest part of the whole thing. Meanwhile, the grille and front spoiler add a sum of $3,790.

But that’s not all. If you look closely, even the one-piece bumper is also made out of composite material, which costs Oklahoma’s SPEEDhaus an additional $4,895. That’s for a total of $14,180, or around $3,000 shy of the cheapest brand-new car in the US in 2025, the Nissan Versa. We’re not sure about the fenders and side mirror caps, though, as they don’t appear to be offered on Vorsteiner’s website.
This Isn’t Its Final Form
To be fair, Vorsteiner offers various finishes for its carbon fiber aero parts, so the decision to keep it naked and glossy could be from whoever commissioned this M4 with the company. And while this isn’t the first naked carbon fiber body we’ve seen, with others having the whole body made out of weave, there are ways to keep it tasteful and not look gaudy, like what Koenigsegg did with the Jesko Attack recently.

If you want this lightweight front fascia for your BMW M4 and even the M3, you should know that there’s a 6-8-week lead time for your request. Vorsteiner also offers a decklid spoiler, an aero wing blade, and a rear diffuser, but hopefully, you’ll have them painted because exposed doesn’t always look good, especially if your car isn’t exotic enough.
